I had the pleasure of working in the laboratory with LRB for many years. I will alsways remember his skill with the electrophresis technique used for chemical analysis of chocolate ingredients (and also widely for DNA analysis). Not only was he an excellent chemist but also an artist with considerable skill and talent. I purchased a few of his watercolours which have now adorned my house walls for more than 35 years.
It was always a pleasure to meet him occaisionally in Cromer on his visits over the years and catch up with his characteristic happy and humorous recollections.
